News Story
We are excited to announce that this autumn, alongside our national tour of Monteverdi's The Coronation of Poppea and Rossini’s Cinderella, we will share a new series of events called ETO Unboxed. Through ETO Unboxed, we will share new work at locations across the tour.
The goal of ETO Unboxed is to invite new audiences to experience opera in fresh ways. We will explore the multi-disciplinary and multi-genre nature of opera in new events taking place in the communities we tour to.
This season's events include 4 spoken-word nights, 2 lunchtime recitals and 1 cross-form music event. ETO will commission work to be performed at these events, taking inspiration from the music and themes of both theatre-based operas this season.
The first ETO Unboxed event is a commission of a new work for electronics and soprano from experimental duo drøne and soprano Julia Mariko, which will be performed at Iklekitkin London on 19 September. Tickets are available here.
