Korean bass Wonsick Oh began his studies at the Korea National University of Arts, entering with outstanding results. He graduated with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music with an MA, studied under the tutelage of Mark Wildman and Ingrid Surgenor MBE, supported by the Charles Mackerras Opera Scholarship and the Josephine Baker Trust. After completing his MA, he progressed to the Opera School (Advanced Diploma) and is a member of the Song Circle
At the Royal Academy Opera, Wonsick's roles include Simone in Gianni Schicchi, the Interrogator in the world premiere of Witch, Lakai in Ariadne auf Naxos, Argenio in Imeneo, Father Trulove in The Rake's Progress, Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro and Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin (HGO Opera).
An alumnus of the Oxford Song Festival's 2022-2023 Young Artist Programme, Wonsick, along with his duo partner Aron Goldin, released the album "Homelands" under Rubicon Classics label, which reached the Top 10 of the UK Classics Charts and was featured on BBC Radio 3. The same year, Wonsick was an alumna of the 2022-2023 Georg Solti Accademia.
He joined the Glyndebourne Opera Chorus in the autumn season of 2023 and the Alvarez Young Artist Programme Garsington Opera in 2024, covering the role of Jupiter in Platée. Additionally, he performed the role of Snug in A Midsummer Night's Dream with Operafirst.
