Susanna Hurrell
Established as a soprano with ‘the whole package’, Hurrell has performed leading roles in houses such as the Royal Opera House, Norwegian National Opera, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and Opéra National de Lorraine and has worked with conductors such as Jakub Hrůša, Marta Gardolińska, Klaus Mäkelä and Ed Gardner. Highlights include Lauretta and Micaëla (ROH), Norina (Longborough Festival Opera), Mélisande (ETO and Norwegian National Opera), Gretel and First Lady (ENO), Governess (Northern Ireland Opera) and Isabel in Lessons in Love and Violence (Mariinsky Theatre). She created the role of Suzy in the award-winning 4.48 Psychosis (Venables), and has recorded Ethel Smythe's Mass in D with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sakari Oramo.
