Stephanie Jennifer Poropat

Stephanie Jennifer Poropat is a U.K. based soprano originally from Sydney, Australia; with over a decade’s worth of performance experience in multiple countries around the world.

Her career began in Sydney, Australia with roles ranging from Mabel The Pirates of Penzance (Gilbert & Sullivan), Valencienne The Merry Widow (Lehar), Euridice Orpheus in the Underworld (Offenbach), and Cassilda The Gondoliers (Gilbert and Sullivan, Rockdale Opera and SAVOY, Sydney).

After moving to the U.K., she performed many roles as both a light-lyric and lyric coloratura soprano. Her varied roles included, La Fee from Massenet’s Cendrillon (Dir. Olivia Fuchs & M.D. Martin Aundre), Die Taumännchen from Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel (Dir. Stephen Medcalf & M.D. Anthony Kraus), Suor Genovieffa from Puccini’s Suor Angelica (Dir. Robert Chevara & M.D. Martin Aundre), to name a few.

Most recently, Stephanie debuted the role of Calavera 1 with the cast of Frida by Rodriguez (Dir. Francesca Murray-Fuentes & M.D. Odaline de La Martinez;) at Northern Opera Group for the U.K.’s premier of the show in late 2023. Stephanie is very excited to join the amazing cast and crew for ETO’s upcoming Spring season.
