Ronald Samm was born in Port of Spain. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and the National Opera Studio.

Recent operatic roles inlcude Lazarus/The Gospel According to the Other Mary for Theater Bonn, Iro (Irus) in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria for Grange Festival, Canio/I Pagliacci for Scottish Opera, and Walther von Stolzing/Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg for Fulham Opera.

His wide range of repertoire includes the title role in Verdi’s Otello, Florestan/Fidelio, Sigemund/Die Walküre, Drum-Major/Wozzeck, and Sportin’ Life, Peter, andJake/Porgy and Bess.
