Born in Cardiff, Richard trained at the RWCMD. Awards include Silver Medal from the Worshipful Company of Musicians. His operatic roles include: Foreman/Mayor Jenůfa (Opera de Lille), Arthur The Lighthouse, Emperor The Emperor of Atlantis, title role Gianni Schicchi (ETO); Benoit/Alcindoro La boheme, Dulcamara L’Elisir d’amore, Bosun Billy Budd, Doctor/Servant/Herald Macbeth, Steuermann Tristan und Isolde, Amantio di Nicolao Gianni Schicchi, The Shepherd Pelléas et Mélisande (GFO); title role Don Pasquale, Mayor Jenůfa, Le Dancaïre Carmen, Frank Die Fledermaus, Dr Grenvil La Traviata (GTO), Sacristan Tosca (Raymond Gubbay, RAH). Future engagements include Bosun Billy Budd (GFO & BAM).
