Philip is particularly delighted to return to ETO, having conducted Paul Bunyan for the Olivier Award-winning Spring 2014 season. Philip is music director of W11 Opera – a youth opera company who perform new commissions each year, written by leading contemporary composers, for a cast of up to a hundred eight to eighteen-year-old students. This year will be especially busy, as running concurrently to ETO he will have rehearsals for W11, but also preparation for the debut of his opera The Glass Knight written for a cast of several hundred students in and around Saffron Walden, accompanied by the Britten Sinfonia. This will be performed in March 2015.

Philip has conducted Sweeney Todd and La Traviata for ON, and The Marriage of Figaro, Cenerentola, Daughter of the Regiment, Il tabarro and Gianni Schicchi for ETO.
