Michael Butchard

Australian tenor Michael Butchard graduated in 2013 with Master of Performance (Vocal Performance) from the RCM, London, where he studied with Justin Lavender and was the recipient of the Vivian Prins Award. He continues his vocal studies in London with Raymond Connell. Michael’s

recent operatic roles include Tamino in Die Zauberflöte (Woodhouse Opera Festival), Ferrando Così Fan Tutte (Focus Opera), Ernesto Don Pasquale (Pavilion Opera). His recent concert performances include the Evangelist St Matthew Passion (All Souls Langham Place), Tenor Soloist St John Passion (St John’s Smith Square/English Baroque Choir). Besides his passion for opera, in his free time Michael bakes bread, brews beer, roasts coffee and loves to potter in his veggie garden.
