MARY PLAZAS studied at the RNCM and the NOS. Formally a company principal at ENO she has also sung for the ROH, Opera North, Glyndebourne, Aldeburgh, Buxton and Bregenz Festivals, Irish National Opera, Northern Ireland Opera, Bayerisches Staatsopera, Opéra Comique and West Australian Opera. Her roles include Cio-Cio San, Mimi, Donna Elvira, Lucrezia Borgia, Maria di Rohan, Mrs Coyle Owen Wingrave and Duchess Powder Her Face (also on DVD). She has created a number of roles including Tina Flight and Blue Fairy Pinocchio. She enjoys an international concert career, has broadcast for the BBC, and recorded for DG, Sony, Chandos and Opera Rara.
