Leo Grant is a Norwich-based composer who takes existing music as the starting point for new pieces, in which familiar elements melt, warp and recombine. He studied composition with Michael Finnissy at the University of Southampton, where he completed a PhD in 2010. His music has been performed by EXAUDI, Lorenzo Marasso and IXION Ensemble, broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s Hear and Now, and presented at festivals across Europe, including Strom at the Philharmonie Berlin. His compositional practice is also informed by his background in dance music production, with releases on Goldie’s Metalheadz label.
