Outside ETO, English-Japanese Soprano Julia Mariko has performed ‘Linnet’ The Selfish Giant (Opera North), ‘Gianetta’ L’elisir d’amore (Scherzo Ensemble), ‘Debutante’, ‘Stella’ & ‘Shirley’ The Land of Might-Have-Been (Buxton International Festival) and with English National Opera’s Engage project. This Autumn she sings Musetta, in a new filmed production of La bohème.

Julia formerly trained at the Royal Northern College of Music and appeared in recital as a Momentum Artist as part of 2021 Leeds Lieder Festival with Dame Sarah Connolly. She is now under the tutelage of Janis Kelly.
