Iwan Davies is Artistic Director of Aberystwyth Musicfest, one of Wales's leading music festivals. He has conducted opera at the Salzburger Landestheater, Buxton International Festival, English Touring Opera, Music Theatre Wales, and with the orchestra of Welsh National Opera, in repertoire ranging from Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti and Puccini to works by Mark-Anthony Turnage, Conor Mitchell and Gareth Glyn. His future plans include the world premiere of Stephen McNeff’s opera Hedd Wyn: Eisteddfod Atomig for Welsh National Opera, and a further world premiere for Music Theatre Wales. He trained at the Guildhall and the National Opera Studio.
