Harriet Eyley
Born in Derbyshire, Harriet Eyley was a Welsh National Opera Associate Artist between 2018 and 2020, her programme supported by the WNO Sir John Moore’s Award and the Chris Ball Bursary. For WNO, she sang Norina Don Pasquale, Frasquita Carmen, Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro and Oscar Un ballo in maschera.
She is a graduate of the Royal College of Music International Opera School where she studied for an Artist Diploma and is the recipient of a First-Class BMus Honours degree, a Distinction in her MMus degree and the prestigious DipRAM for an outstanding final recital and master’s dissertation from the Royal Academy of Music. Harriet remains under the tutelage of Lillian Watson. Roles at the RCM included Tytania A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Clotilde Faramondo (in association with the London Handel Festival), Serpetta La finta giardiniera and Thérèse / Tirésias Les mamelles de Tirésias. As a 2018 Alvarez Young Artist for Garsinton Opera at Wormsley, she sang Papagena Die Zauberflöte.
Harriet’s radio and television broadcasts include In Tune for BBC Radio 3 and Lucy Worsley’s Queen Victoria’s Music for BBC2. Concert engagements include Beethoven Unleashed: the 1808 Concert with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music for HRH The Price of Wales at Buckingham Palace, Four Seasons by Candlelight for Raymond Gubbay Ltd and New Year Gala Concerts with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
Engagements during 2021 have included Meleagro La corona for Bampton Classical Opera, ETO’s Focus on Amadigi and Vixen Sharp-Ears The Cunning Little Vixen for Opera Holland Park.
Future engagements include Zerlina Don Giovanni for Welsh National Opera, Messiah on tour with the Britten Sinfonia and Carols by Candlelight for Raymond Gubbay Ltd.
