Emma Watkinson

British mezzo soprano Emma Watkinson read Music at City University, before studying at TCM, and subsequently in Ghent, Belgium, where she joined The Flanders Opera Studio. She continues to work with her teacher Raymond Connell in London. For ETO Emma has sung Marcella The Wild Man of the West Indies, Poppet Paul Bunyan and Cover Helen King Priam. Her other roles include The Page Salome, Jean Le portrait de Manon, and Aurore Koanga (Wexford Festival), and she has covered Nancy Albert Herring and Romeo I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Buxton Festival). She has worked extensively with ETO, Wexford and Longborough Festival Operas, Grange Park Opera, Iford Arts, and Opera Australia. She enjoys a regular yoga practice as well as long distance running and planning dinner parties with friends!
