Elena Xanthoudakis
Greek-Australian soprano Elena Xanthoudakis studied music at the University of Melbourne, Victorian College of the Arts, and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, as well as in the young artist programmes of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and English National Opera. She has sung Amina La Sonnambula, Gilda Rigoletto, Countess Adele Le comte Ory, Contessa di Folleville Il viaggio a Reims, Lucia di Lammermoor, Clorinda La Cenerentola, Giulietta I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Adina L’elisir d’amore, Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda and Pia de’ Tolomei at such companies as the Royal Opera House, Greek National Opera, Scottish Opera, Opera North, Glyndebourne, English Touring Opera, Opéra de Québec, Opéra national du Rhin, and Maggio Musicale. Elena has cultivated an interest in bel canto and rare works; her CDs Jewels of the Bel Canto (with Richard Bonynge and featuring Catherine Carby) and The Captive Nightingale are both available on Signum.
