Eleanor Penfold
Winner of the 2016 Schubert Song Prize at the London Song Festival, soprano Eleanor Penfold is a recent graduate of the RCM where she was a Ruth West Scholar supported by the Josephine Baker Trust. Last season Eleanor performed the roles of Naïade and Bergère in Rameau’s Les fêtes d’Hébé at the Opéra Bastille, Paris; Thérèse (cover) and Une dame élégante in Poulenc’s Les mamelles de Tirésias, directed by Stephen Unwin, for the RCMIOS; and Clori Acis and Galatea under Lawrence Zazzo at Snape Maltings as well as Naiad in Ariadne auf Naxos directed by James Bonas.
