Dionysis Grammenos made his conducting debut at the age of 21 with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra. Since then he has collaborated with the Canadian Opera Company, Cameristi della Scala, Malta Philharmonic, Festival Strings Luzern, Athens State Orchestra and soloists including Renaud Capuçon, Khatia Buniatishvili, Daniel Ottensamer and Anna Fedorova. In 2008 he won the 1st prize at the European Young Musicians Competition by the EBU. He has been also awarded the ECHO Klassik Rising Star prize and a Conducting Fellowship from the Aspen Music Festival. As a solo clarinettist he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Amsterdam Concertgebouw and Barbican Centre in London and has collaborated with the Vienna Symphony, Vienna ORF and the Norwegian Radio Symphony. He is founder and artistic director of the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra, which has recently performed at the Konzerthaus Berlin for the Young Euro Classic festival. |
