Ashley Mercer grew up in Essex and trained at TLCMD, where he was a TCM Trust Scholar and a Kathleen Roberts Scholar, and was awarded the Paul Simm Opera Prize. Last year he was a Christine Collins Young Artist for OHP, and recent engagements include Hermann/Schlémil The Tales of Hoffmann, and Ernest Shackleton Shackleton’s Cat (ETO), Usher Trial by Jury and German Soldier 1 Silent Night (WFO), Harašta The Cunning Little Vixen (Co-Opera Co), Dr Craven in Stephen McNeff’s The Secret Garden (Trinity Laban/Banff Arts Centre, Canada), Exposure: Opera (Trinity Laban/ROH2) and Spinelloccio Gianni Schicchi (Fulham Opera).
