Ace McCarron’s first contact with an opera company was with Sir Peter Maxwell Davies’ company, The Fires of London, with whom he became a lighting designer. Ace is known for his long-term relationship with MTW, for whom he will light a new Philip Glass commission in 2014. Aside from working with many UK opera companies, Ace has worked with Muziektheater Transparant in Antwerp, Den Nye Opera in Bergen and the Operastudio Vlaanderen in Ghent. Along with composer Guy Harries, he has won the inaugural Flourish Award for the libretto of an opera called ‘Two Caravans’, which will be presented by Opera Up Close this September.
