As we head into the New Year, we're just a few days away from rehearsals for our spring season! This spring, we're excited to tour 4 operas and a workshop series across the country:
Manon Lescautis a devastating depiction of a woman wrestling with her desire for love on her own terms, and the rigid double standards imposed on her by society.
In The Rake's Progress, young Tom Rakewell’s quiet life with his sweetheart Anne is turned upside down when the mysterious Nick Shadow comes to his door with whispers of wealth and luxury.
Our latest children's opera,The Great Stink, premieres this spring and will be bringing puppets, a poo chorus, and lessons about water pollution to over 6,000 children in schools and libraries across England.
We are also excited to be opening the Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts with a performance of Judith Weir's Blond Eckbert, a dark fairy tale where an unexpected visit from an old friend upends Eckbert and Berthe’s life of quiet solitude.
This January, we're launching our latest education programme, ETO Lyrics. Our facilitators are excited to join young people in Alternative Provision settings for lyric and songwriting workshops focused on improving mental health through creative self expression.
Enjoy opera with us in 2024!
