We're delighted to introduce our 2021 digital season, which launches on Easter Sunday (4 April) with a free broadcast of our 2020 production of Bach's St John Passion.

James Conway's staging brought together professional soloists, more than 30 choirs from across the country and the period orchestra, the Old Street Band, for a series of distinctive reimagined performances of St John Passion. Filmed during a performance at Hackney Empire just over a year ago, the broadcast will be accompanied by a new documentary that reunites the production's cast to explore their experiences during the past year of lockdown.

The season will then continue with all-new productions of music by such composers as Josquin, de Machaut, Shostakovich and Elena Langer, specially produced and filmed for the season.
