Ruth Mariner
Director & Writer
Ruth is a writer and director working within opera and interdisciplinary theatre making. She studied at Cambridge and Guildhall, and has written and directed for companies including The Royal Opera, The National Opera Studio and The Lawrence Batley Theatre. Recent work includes an folk-inspired retelling of Purcell’s Fairy Queen for Waterperry Opera Festival, a devised performance with The British Red Cross for the main stage of Opera Holland Park, and a people’s opera for The Royal Opera House, Muscat, to celebrate the Sultan’s Jubilee. Ruth teaches Opera Making at The Royal Academy of Music.
