Jonathan Williams
Jonathan is the Director of College Music at St Hilda’s College, Oxford, and enjoys an enviable reputation as conductor, orchestrator and teacher. Most recently standing in for Sir Simon Rattle at the OAE, his compositions and orchestrations can be heard on NOVELLO-winning soundtracks with over 70 million sales, including Sony’s blockbuster Horizon Zero Dawn. Jonathan’s doctoral research on Rameau’s Anacréon (1754) led to a new Bärenreiter edition, and a world-premiere performance and recording by the OAE. He is the founder of the Rameau Project, which is reappraising Rameau’s opera, particularly in regard to his use of dance in the formative decades of Classical ballet.
