Alexander Simpson

British countertenor Alexander Simpson is a versatile young singer and actor.

Recent operatic roles include Cowslip Fairy Queen (Waterperry Opera Festival), Athamas Semele (Royal Academy of Music), Arsace Partenope(Iford Arts Festival), Arcane Teseo (London Handel Festival) and Refugee Flight (Royal Academy Opera).

Alexander won the Accademia Vivaldi Scholarship at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, both the Rosalind Armstrong Prize and the Tony Lowrey Audience Prize in the Hurn Court Opera Singing Competition and was a finalist in the prestigious Froville International Baroque Singing Competition.

Alexander read Music at St John’s College, Cambridge and recently graduated from Royal Academy Opera.
