Born in Stockport, Alex is an experienced conductor of orchestral, choral and operatic music.

He studied at the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music.

Alex is the music director of the Haffner Orchestra in Lancaster, the Nottingham Youth Orchestra, Furness Bach Choir in the South Lakes and Artistic Director of ‘Music for Everyone’ an arts charity in Nottingham.

He has worked with the Hálle, BBC Philharmonic, Hradec Kravlove Philharmonic, Prague Philharmonia, Athens Philharmonia, Spokane Symphony Orchestra, Old Street Band, English Touring Opera, Heritage Opera and many more. Alex is also a harpsichordist and and violist.
