Alexander Robinson

Alex Robinson is a conductor based in Manchester, UK. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 2016 with a MusB (with Hons) in Music and from the RNCM in 2018 with an MMus (Conducting). Alex has worked with a number of professional orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, the Moravian Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonia, the Hálle, English Touring Opera and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. Alex was the first Spokane Symphony Orchestra Music Director Fellow in April 2022. He has worked as assistant conductor to Sir Mark Elder, Juanjo Mena, Sir Andrew Davies, James Lowe, Vassily Petrenko and Jonathan Peter Kenny. He has also worked with local orchestras and choirs including Furness Bach Choir, Sheffield Philharmonic, Rotherham Symphony Orchestra and the Amaretti Chamber Orchestra. He is a keen advocate of youth music and works regularly with Nottingham Youth Orchestra and tours to Europe with them once a year. Also a harpsichordist, Alex regularly works as a repetiteur and Assistant Conductor for various opera companies in the UK, including Northern Opera Group, Radius Opera and Heritage Opera.
