Auditions

English Touring Opera are pleased to announce that we'll be holding General Auditions this summer on the following dates and locations:

LONDON – Wednesday 17th July 2024

LONDON – Tuesday 23rd July 2024

SHEFFIELD -Thursday 25th July 2024

From these auditions, artists will be considered for ensemble and cover roles in our mainstage productions and for our Learning & Participation projects. The panel will include our General Director Robin Norton-Hale, Music Director Gerry Cornelius and Head of Learning & Participation Bradley Travis.

ETO’s forthcoming productions includes Bellini’s I Capuletti e i Montecchi (The Capulets and the Montagues) and The Elixir of Love by Donizetti, both of which will be sung in English.

To request an audition please complete the form below, attaching your CV as a pdf and ensure that you have also completed our anonymous Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form. If you experience any challenges with completing forms and require another format or have any other questions, please contact the Artistic Administrator via auditions@englishtouringopera.org.uk. If you have any access requirements, other adjustments, or are experiencing financial hardship that may bar you from being able to attend the audition, please add these in the notes section of your application and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Applications can only be made via the below form and will close at 9am on Tuesday 28th May. Slots will be allocated from the beginning of June, so please do not book any travel tickets until you have a confirmed audition time.

Audition Key Information
  • Deadline for applications is 9am on Tuesday 28th May 2024
  • General Auditions will take place in London on Wednesday 17th July & Tuesday 23rd July and Sheffield on Thursday 25th July. Please feel free to specify your preferred date and location on the application form
  • You will be asked to bring two contrasting arias or songs, at least one of which should be in English or English translation
  • All candidates are asked to complete a separate and anonymised Equal Opportunities form. This is essential for our internal and external reporting processes and will not be accessible by the casting team during their deliberations.
