The Wild Man of the West Indies

San Domingo Syndicate

Following the success of ETO’s production of Donizetti’s The Siege of Calais in spring 2013, we will be continuing our exploration of Donizetti’s rarely-performed masterpieces in spring 2015 with Il furioso all’isola di San Domingo (translated for this tour as The Wild Man of the West Indies).

“[Il furioso] burst upon Naples like a supernova… triggering an urban craze that swept the city for more than a fortnight: for few heady spring weeks, it seemed that all Naples could talk about was Il furioso.” – Martin Deasy, “Local Color: Donizetti’s Il furioso in Naples”

As in previous seasons we will be creating a Production Syndicate to raise the funding needed for this new production.

Being part of a Production Syndicate gives you the opportunity to become much more closely involved with a production. Throughout the creative and production process we will host a series of events for Syndicate supporters to follow the opera as it develops from initial designs to opening night. There will also be events to learn more about the history of the opera with like-minded people.

For The Wild Man of the West Indies, we have two levels of Syndicate Support. We are asking for donations of £1,000 and above to join the San Domingo Syndicate. We are also looking for somebody to take a leading role and be the production’s principal supporter. We are asking for a donation of £3,000 and above to be the Lead Syndicate Supporter.

More information about the San Domingo Syndicates can be found on the next tab, or by downloading the information sheets from the menu on the left.

Should you have any questions about Production Syndicates, please contact Kate Eberwein, Head of Development on 0207 833 2555 or by emailing kate.eberwein@englishtouringopera.org.uk

We look forward to welcoming you into our community of Syndicate Supporters.
