15th January 2010
We’ve recorded four videos to give you a unique insight behind the scenes at ETO. James Conway tells all about the thought processes and hard work behind our three productions this Spring.
Don Pasquale preview:
James reveals the history of Donizetti’s biggest success, the challenges faced by the producer, and how a singer inspired him to put on this opera.
The Marriage of Figaro preview:
James discusses how to keep such a famous opera fresh, the thinking behind this period production, and an exciting young cast who are well and truly ready for their roles.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream preview:
James talks about the exquisite set design and the casting of 10 local children as fairies for each venue. He pinpoints a variety of musical highlights, from the haunting, to the sugary, to the virile.
Spring 2010 preview:
James sums up this season of strong, mainstream comedies, and reviews the particular talent of our music director Michael Rosewell to bring out the best in the orchestra and singers. He promises quality, attention to detail, and best of all, happy endings.
