The Emperor of Atlantis at Alyth Gardens

24th August 2012

English Touring Opera is performing a special semi-staged version of The Emperor of Atlantis at the North Western Reform Synagogue, Alyth Gardens, London, at 7.15pm on Saturday 20th October.

This is an extra chance for audience members to experience Viktor Ullmann’s wonderful music, in an intimate and unusual setting.

Prior to the opera performance, soprano Paula Sides (familiar to ETO audiences in Flavio, Xerxes, The Marriage of Figaro) and pianist Jonathan Gale give an accompanying recital, celebrating Ullmann’s life and lesser-known works through a selection of the many songs he wrote throughout his tragically short career.

Tickets are £20 (with a small number of premium seats at £25), and are available directly from Alyth Gardens on 020 8457 8795/ 07956 912567 or by emailing

Please note this performance features piano rather than ETO’s full Ullmann orchestra, and does not include the Bach cantata Christ lag in Todesbanden.

North Western Reform Synagague, Alyth Gardens, London, NW11 7EN. Saturday 20th October, 7.15pm.
