Stellar line-up of speakers confirmed for pre-show talks in London

ETO has confirmed a fascinating line-up of pre-show speakers for our performances at the Linbury Studio Theatre, Royal Opera House in October.

We will be welcoming Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, composer of The Lighthouse, for a special in-conversation event before the performance of The Lighthouse on Thursday 11th October.

World renowned cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, who performed in the Women’s Orchestra of Auschwitz, will give her perspective on creativity in adversity before The Emperor of Atlantis on Friday 5th October. She will be in conversation with journalist Jessica Duchen.

Director Christopher Rolls talks about his new production of Albert Herring on Wednesday 10th October.

Finally, film-maker Simon Broughton, who made the BBC documentary The Music of Terezin, discusses The Emperor of Atlantis on Friday 12th October .

All pre-show talks are free to ticket holders for that night’s performance.

The pre-show talks for The Lighthouse and Albert Herring take place in the Clore Studio at the Royal Opera House at 6.30pm.

The pre-show talks for The Emperor of Atlantis take place on stage in the Linbury Studio Theatre. They form part our special pre-show events programme, which also includes the new song cycle Towards an Unknown Port, and commences at 7.15pm.
